Become A Member

In the past we have had one type of membership type. New for 2024, we are now offering three (3) different types of membership to help increase our membership across Canada.

The requirements to become a full Member of the NTBA:

• Must have a valid Motor Carrier Property Brokers license issued by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration
• Must have a physical business address in Canada (NOTE: Identity offices, PO Box and 3rd party mailboxes locations are excluded)
• Encouraged to have in place a trust account in order to conform to Section 191.0.1. (3) of Ontario’s Highway Traffic Act

Full Members have 100% voting rights in the NTBA. Members can serve on the Board of Directors for the NTBA. Once a member, all communication and branding references to membership must read “Member”.

The requirements to become an Associate Member of the NTBA:

• Associate Members of the NTBA for jurisdictional or business reasons, may not hold any regulatory licenses
• Are encouraged to have in place a trust account in order to conform to Section 191.0.1. (3) of Ontario’s Highway Traffic Act.

Associate Members do not have voting rights in the NTBA, can not be directors of the NTBA, and are not required to have a physical business address in Canada. Once an associate member, all communication and branding references to membership must read “Associate Member”.

The requirements to become an Affiliate Member of the NTBA:

• Must be a supplier of services to load brokerage companies.
• Must have a Canadian business address

Affiliate Members do not have voting rights in the NTBA, and can not be on the Board of Directors for the NTBA. Once an affiliate member, all communication and branding references to membership must read “Affiliate Member”.

Full Members, Associate Members and Affiliate Members pay the same annual rate of $282.50 (includes tax).

Whether you are renewing your membership or are new to NTBA, for 2024 we will require an application form to be completed. Please download the fillable PDF Application Form below and once completed, email to us at info@ntba-brokers.com. Please note: you will also need to include a signed copy of the NTBA Code of Ethics and Professionalism to complete your application.

Once we have approved your application, we will send you an invoice for the 2024 Membership Fee to the email you use to apply/renew. If you have any questions about the form, please contact us and we’ll be happy to help answer any questions.
